The Little Big Horns is a 5 piece funky brass band based in Somerset. With infectious riffs, rich tunes and wild solos it will be a night of music with loads of energy, mixing up contemporary New Orleans brass, ska, Balkan and reggae grooves and influences. It’s a cosmopolitan cocktail from around the world.
Mike Hurley on drums, lays down tight and energetic beats and Tom Francombe on Sousaphone, provides a solid foundation with his deep, bouncy tones. Coupling this thunderous rhythm section, Tim Hill’s saxophone solos soar above. Joe Porter on trumpet emits honking loudness, showering the mix with audacious notes and Vincent Touret on trombone adds soulful dimensions.
In the afternoon from 3pm – 5pm members of the band will be leading a workshop for musicians. It’ll be a fun instrumental workshop with professional musicians to learn a few simple tunes, open to everyone playing an acoustic portable instrument (piano players welcome, treat yourself to a melodica and join us!) Every age and level of playing is welcome, there will be some very easy to more advanced stuff to play together.
