Ashburton Arts Centre can only run with the help from loads of volunteers. Some of these help by running the bar before, during and after concerts and other events. All of our board members are volunteers. There are several people who have volunteered or continue to help with keeping the building in good order, dealing with cleaning, electrics, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, masonry, roofing and more – we also pay for professional help with these areas when necessary. There are other things like looking after our volunteers, and finding beds for visiting performers, which are also dealt with by volunteers.
For general volunteering, at events, etc, we have an volunteers’ email list. Every week or two, we send out a list of what’s coming up – if anyone wants to put their name down to help for a particular event, they reply and let us know. If not, they ignore it – there’s no obligation or minimum requirement. If you’d like to be added to this, or have any other way you’d like to volunteer, please email info@ashburtonarts.org.uk.
