It’s the summer of 1947 in a small town in England. Britain prepares to commemorate the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip. The war has been over for two years, but there’s still rationing of meat. To get around these laws, Dr. Charles Swaby, accountant Henry Allardyce and solicitor Frank Lockwood are fattening a black-market pig for the big day, as they want to impress (or probably bribe) the local government by giving a big party. They want to slaughter an illegally raised pig for this event. Egged on by his wife Joyce, meek Gilbert Chilvers steals the swine, but the couple must conceal it from inspector Morris Wormold.
