Another great line up of two of the best blues acts in the South West, followed by a blues jam session. The live music starts pretty sharp after 7.30pm, as we have three sets to fit in before the end of the night between 10.30 – 11pm.
Adam Sweet
Guitarist and singer/songwriter Adam has featured here at our Not Only but Also the Blues night several times. Balancing richly detailed song writing with expertly piercing guitar work, he released his second album ‘Sink or Swim’ in 2020. With brooding ballads and rollicking roots rock he delivers honest tales of loss, longing and hope as he continues to carve out his own territory between classic rock, blues and Americana. Always a fabulous watch and listen.

The Sugar Shakers were formed around 10 years ago by Rob Bright, guitar, and Martin Tucker on vocals to perform traditional R’n’B (the 50s and 60s version) keeping alive the Thames Delta Blues tradition in the Teign estuary. Inspired by Dr Feelgood and the early Rolling Stones their repertoire includes songs by Willie Dixon, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Wilko Johnson and the 3 kings (Albert, BB and Freddie). WIth Ian Loud on drums and Roger Stone on bass theirs is a rock-orientated style of blues characterised by Cream and Free.
Not Only But Also the Blues is a monthly session that draws inspiration from the great tradition of blues providing an opportunity for bands to play in a great venue for a truly appreciative audience.
