An evening to launch the new novel by celebrated local author Andy Brown:
The Midnight Mechanic
A boy drowns in the sewers of Victorian London, leading to the orphaning of his surviving brothers in a Dickensian underworld. With vivid images of destitution, family ties, the dignity of work, and social responsibility, The Midnight Mechanic explores a man’s relentless pursuit to better himself, to escape the muck and make amends, while raising pressing environmental issues that are still pertinent today.
Andy will read from and talk about the book, with Q&A hosted by Marc Woodward.
The 2nd half will be a live set of original songs from THE ESCAPEES
Marcus Vergette – Drums
David Briggs – Bass/Guitars
Marc Woodward – Mandolin
Andy Brown – Guitar/Vocals
