Piotr Damasiewicz, trumpet & piano
Grzegorz Lesiak, guitar
Chris Kasprzyk, saxophone
These three musicians are all part of the Listening and Sounding project (founded by Piotr) which is a “publishing house, integrating music, art, education and environmental protection around the global problem of sound pollution.” This concert is part of a tour during May and June which takes in Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Lille, Luxembourg, and Ashburton!
“The music of the trio draws from the language of jazz, 20th-century classical music, ethnic music, as well as the latest music, including European improvised and experimental music. The composed and conjointly improvised parts have equal importance, and as an act of momentary creating and communicating between musicians and audiences, the faint, transitory aspect of music is the main focus.”
This video features Piotr Damasiewicz talking about his music, along with several clips of him playing. He’s clearly an extraordinary character, an original musician, and superb trumpet player.
Piotr and Chris both feature here:
These musicians are part of the project Listening and Sounding (L.A.S. ) a publishing initiative created by Piotr Damasiewicz, whose aim, apart from publishing music itself, is to promote art and music through joint experience between listener-musician, artist-viewer. It is an artistic platform focusing on co-creating interpersonal relationships, building a network of artistic connections and educating creators and audiences through sound.

L.A.S. is co-financed by the [Polish] Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Center for the Development of Creative Industries’ own program: Development of Creative Sectors.
