Ashburton Primary School’s year 4 & 5 children were offered a special opportunity to work alongside the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter. Through this collaboration, they looked at different masks across time and across the world. They demonstrated the differences in several different cultures and how these cultures celebrated and acknowledged who they were.
This provided the perfect inspiration when creating their own mask in workshop run by professional artist, Ruth Webb. The children not only designed and shaped their masks, but even made prints that represented them, celebrating who they are.
We hope you enjoy celebrating their unique and special piece as much as each of our unique and special children enjoyed making them!
