According to the first person who booked tickets for this, Louise is, “A wonderful bluesy, jazzy, gutsy singer – Louise’s voice and music makes you feel joyful! Life enhancing! We all need it!! make the effort you’ll be glad you did.” Sounds like good advice.
After last month’s gig at the South Molton Jazz Club in North Devon, the club posted: “if you stayed in on Friday 29th with your feet toasting by the fire then we’re here to tell you that you missed a night of superb music from the Louise Parker Quartet. Many thanks to the band for giving us something to remember over the Christmas break”
Here’s what a few critics have said about her before:
“This year’s next big thing.” London Evening Standard

“Swings like fury.” Humphrey Lyttelton
“Watch out for Louise Parker!” Barry Clare, Just Jazz
“A totally genuine jazz performer.” “…a perfect lesson in feeling and phrasing.” Les Tomkins, The Jazz Rag
“On all the normal counts of what makes a good jazz singer, Louise Parker seems to qualify; clear diction, fine projection, warmth, a feel for the lyrics and, most all, she seems to give every song the right ‘weight’.” Just Jazz
“There’s no substitute for good time and tone… Tender or wild, her voice never lost its warmth and her phrasing had an in-built propulsion rarely heard from others.” Jack Massarik London Evening Standard
“Sweetly soulful jazz vocals.” Mike Flynn, Jazzwise Magazine
“What Louise does with every track is to make it her own.” Clare Robinson, Plymouth Evening Herald
“Louise has that extra special something.” Paul Kelly, Plymouth City Council
“Congratulations on the CD – I think it’s great!” Humphrey Lyttelton
