It’s Not Only, But Also, The Blues…
Pennsylvania Railroad
Ray Kemp just can’t resist playing the blues… he has been playing more years than he cares to remember. in the 70s he toured Europe with many of the big names in the rock and blues world and was a founder member of England, The Stan Foley Band, The Travelling Bluesburys and more recently Railroad. In 2016 he started playing with Paul Smail on keys and it quickly became evident that there was a meeting of minds and talent when they play. Combined with Paul’s classical background and feel, they now play and compose their own brand of “blues with a jazz feel”. They’re often joined by other musicians on sax, double bass/bass guitar, percussion and drums. The band then takes on a more defined feel and groove that comes from the combined experience of musicians who have been on the road with other great musicians over many years.
Ray Beavis on sax has played with Ronnie Laine of Small Faces, toured the world with Graham Parker and the Rumour, Recorded with Shakin’ Stevens, Katrina and the Waves, Boomtown Rats, Rory Gallagher, U2 , Cliff Richard, the Clash… the list goes on. He toured for many years with Suzi Quatro. More about Ray Beavis, sax, here. The band is completed with Chris and Henry holding the groove on bass and drums. Another Not Only but Also the Blues evening with exceptional players.
