Olly Syrus is a London-based saxophone player trained at the Guildhall and possessed of a beautiful tone and lyricism on tenor and soprano saxophones. He is touring Devon this April with pianist Tom Ball. The pair have evolved their playing together for 20 years and have developed an empathy showcased on their new duo album On the Other Hand. Joined for this tour by bass ace and anchorman Kev Sanders, they will be playing a mix of jazz standards, their own compositions, original arrangements of pop songs and tunes by jazz icons including Kenny Wheeler and Stan Getz.
