Lifelong pianist, Jenny Quick is offering a programme of slow piano music with many notes.
A journey through time and across Europe…. From the early composers, Bach, Scarlatti and the humour of Haydn as a starting point we then plung into the melancholy of Russia’s Scriabin. The venture continues west via Poland, (Paderewski) Slovakia (Janacek) and the mystery of Fauré and Messiaen in France until we emerge into languid heat of Spain and the sensuality of Frederick Mompou.
No such programme would be complete without Rachmaninov. Two of his preludes touch us finally with his most lyrical and tender caresses.
Jenny is raising funds to support her ongoing specialist Alexander Technique studies in America which will enable her to assist musicians in situations such as performance anxiety, prevention of injury and maximisi their musical joy and potential.
