If you’re a hip hop fan you will LOVE The Scribes, they’re the best! If you’re not normally a hip hop fan, but like great, intelligent, music and lyrics, then you might just find that you love this band too (as much as I did when I first saw them live – Andy Williamson, Arts Director, Ashburton Arts Centre, and lover of great music whatever the genre!). There’s a fantastic effervescence and energy about them, and a joy in bouncing spontaneous ideas off of each other in the moment that is up there with the best in live performers across the whole musical spectrum.
Multi-award-winning hip hop three-piece whose unique blend of beatboxing, off the cuff freestyling and genre-spanning music has created a live show quite unlike any other on the scene today. Winners of both the Exposure Music Award’s Best UK Urban Act and the EatMusic Radio Award’s Best Live Act, they’ve shared the stage with Wu Tang Clan, Dizzee Rascal, Kelis, Rag N Bone Man, Example, Lethal Bizzle, The Wailers, Jurassic 5, Sugarhill Gang, KRS One, De La Soul, MF Doom, and Souls Of Mischief. Always extraordinary!

“Genuinely memorable. The Scribes could be what UK hip hop’s looking for” Hip Hop Connection Magazine “The UK’s hottest hip hop” 24/7 Magazine
“Smart, playful rhyming and delightfully off-kilter beatery, Ray Davies-esque song writing with moments of genuine self reflection. Groovy, witty, colourful and catchy” Rocksucker
“So catchy it hurts. Welcome to the new dawn of music. Intelligent yet soulful whilst striking you dumb with sheer musicianship” Jackson Cooper, Riviera FM
