Chube is a young Fusion band based in Cardiff, South Wales led by Ben Creighton Griffiths on Electric Harp and Keys. It features Ashley John Long and Cameron Saint on Basses, and Jon Bradford-Jones on Drums.
They draw their inspiration from a wide variety of artists and genres and aim to write electro acoustic music that pushes the boundaries of their instruments. The harp features prominently in performances, and Ben uses effects processors to take the harp from it’s regular, classical sound, to a rock guitar through distortion, an ambient synth through delays and phasers, and much more. Combined with innovative percussion and groovy bass riffs it all goes to creating a totally unique blend of Fusion.
Chube has performed at a number of festivals including Harp on Wight, Aberjazz, and Wall2Wall Jazz Festivals – giving a unique recital with special guest Dennis Rollins MBE on the trombone at the latter. In 2019 Chube was a finalist for the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award.
Recent shows include the Aberjazz Festival, a collaboration gig with J4 in Cardiff at Tiny Rebel, and the OCC in Malvern. Upcoming gigs include the Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, the Bridport Arts Centre in May, CroftFest in Suffolk, and our European debut at the new ‘Stella Matutina’ European Harp Festival in Austria in 2025.

* We usually have three ticket prices – please pay what you can. If you can pay the full price, that’s great. If choosing a cheaper ticket allows you to come to more things, then please do! Ticket receipts are split between the artists (it’s usually their livelihood!) and the arts centre (keeps the place going). Except on the rare occasions when we have a sellout gig on our hands, it’s always better to have someone here in the audience than an empty seat, so genuinely, please pay whatever you can.
